Photo 11×14 paper size
279.4 × 355.6 mm
11 × 14 inches · 27.94 × 35.56 cm · aspect ratio 1:1.27
Photo 11×14 size is 279.4 × 355.6 mm. Those are the Photo 11×14 dimensions a printer works to; the same sheet in centimetres, inches, points and pixels is below.
It is written 11x14 and 11 by 14 as often as 11×14 — the same sheet however it is typed. Sizes named by their inches like this one get asked for by the numbers rather than by a letter code, which is why the spelling varies and the sheet does not.
What Photo 11×14 is for
11 × 14 inches is a gallery and portrait frame standard at a 5:7-ish ratio (14:11, or 1.27:1). Like every common frame size other than 4 × 6 and 8 × 12 it is not 2:3, so a camera original loses about 15% of its long edge. Mounting with a mat makes this worse, since the mat window is usually 5 mm smaller again on each side.

Photo 11×14 in pixels
Pixel dimensions depend entirely on the resolution you are working at — there is no single "pixel size" for a sheet of paper. Photo 11×14 size in pixels has every resolution, with file sizes and canvas setup.
| Resolution | Pixels | Use |
|---|---|---|
| 72 DPI | 792 × 1008 | Screen preview only — far too coarse to print |
| 150 DPI | 1650 × 2100 | Draft printing, internal documents |
| 300 DPI | 3300 × 4200 | The standard for commercial print |
| 600 DPI | 6600 × 8400 | Fine detail, line art, archival scanning |
Setting up a print document? Use 300 DPI and add 3 mm of bleed on every edge unless your printer specifies otherwise.
How Photo 11×14 relates to the rest of the series
At 279.4 × 355.6 mm (11 × 14 inches) the aspect ratio is 1:1.273. This size is not part of a halving series, so there is no fixed scaling factor to the next size up or down — each one is defined on its own terms.
The closest ISO sheet by area is A3 at 297 × 420 mm — this size is 20% smaller. The proportions differ, though: A3 is 1:1.414 like every A size, and this one is 1:1.273, so content laid out for one does not fill the other without cropping or white space.
