Different markets, so this is a translation rather than a choice. The European bed closest in width to UK King is EU Double at 140 cm, not EU King. If a guide written for Britain recommends UK King, EU Double is the size it means.

Which one to buy

Same length, 30 cm apart in width — 15 cm per sleeper. Nobody gets to stretch out further; the whole difference is elbow room, which matters if two people share it and not at all if one does.

Does the same bedding fit both?

No. 30 cm of width is far outside what a fitted sheet absorbs. Buy for the size you own and read the centimetres, not the label.

Space per person

Shared between two adults, UK King gives each sleeper 75 cm and EU King gives 90 cm. For comparison, a single bed is 90 cm wide, so anything under that is less room each than a single bed gives one person.

Room each one needs

With 60 cm to walk down each side and 60 cm at the foot: 270 × 260 cm for UK King, 300 × 260 cm for EU King — a difference of 30 cm in the room, not just the bed. Against a wall on one side, take 60 cm off.
